
Idli Karam Podi is a very good combination for Idli, Dosa. Popularly referred as Gunpowder it is served with a dollop of ghee/oil. This Powder has different versions in South India with a slight variation in measurements and ingredients. Each region has a different method of preparing the powder . Here I am presenting Karnataka style Powder/ Podi. It is referred as Chutney powder. This Powder is prepared with Gram dal (Chana dal), Urad dal, Red chillies, Tamarind, Dry coconut, and few other ingredients. The spice levels in this powder / podi depends on ones taste and preference. This particular powder which is shown in the video can also be eaten mixed with hot rice and ghee and papad.
