Rafaleshwar Mahadev Mandir located in Rafaleshwar village; little away from the Morbi City is the near Wankaner City of Gujarat, India. It is said to be built by Maharaj Ripu on a "Swaymbhu Shivlinga". I had visited this Mandir after visited Khodiyar Mata Temple at Matel village. My friend tells me to about this mandir, when we are on the way to morbi city than after we are decided to visit this temple. Today this single temple has five "lingas". One main "shivlingas" and other four installed by the kings in their names as a token of respect towards the "Mahadev". It has a big bathing tank on the left. Carved out of sand stone it has some fine carvings and arches. Some of the carvings have the effect of corrosion on them but most of them are intact. The careless wire fitting shows the disrespect for the historical heritage. The marble plaque shows the details of the restoration work done by Maharaja Shree Lakdhirji. There were lots of such pots I wonder where they all vanished. This huge bell was placed during the last restoration work. The most important thing I liked about the temple is that everyone is welcome be it people, crows, dogs, turtles just about anyone. That is really like "Bholenath" and the reason why everyone is attracted towards him and his simplicity. It is said in the stories that King Ripu had gone to Kashi to sacrifice his life. His sacrificial blood gave rise to papal tree sapling with golden leaves which was planted here. We tried to find that tree but all we could find was a regular pipal tree but it is also a magnificent tree.
