
Rasam is a South Indian delicacy Rasam is prepared in a number of methods all over Southern region referred by different names like Rasam, Chaaru, Saaru in different languages . It is prepared with Dal or without Dal depending on the Rasam variety. Rasam generally is served with Plain White Rice / as an Appetiser. Rasam Idlis can be prepared by soaking the prepared Idlis in the Rasam which has a delicious taste. In this video I have shown how to prepare BEETROOT RASAM. It is prepared by grinding Beetroots and little coconut and boiled along with tamarind and other spices. No Dal is added in this Rasam. It can be prepared instantly with ease. It can be served as a soup too. Ingredients : Beetroot - 1 med sized ( boiled ) Coconut - 1 tbsp grated Garlic - 3 cloves crushed coarsely Green chilli - 1, Tamarind extract - 1 tbsp Coriander leaves and curry leaves Red chilli powder - 1/2 spoon cumin and pepper powder - 1/2 spoon ( take 1 spoon cumin seeds and 1/2 spoon black pepper . grind coarsely. use 1/2 spoon of the powder.) for seasoning : mustard seeds and cumin seeds salt to taste, oil - 1 spoon, water as required.
