The 2019 BMW X7 is an all-new model, the first seven-passenger SUV from this German luxury automaker. As a new model, the X7 joins six other BMW utility vehicles numbered from the X1 through the X6. It enables BMW to meet virtually every angle of the luxury utility vehicle market. The new X7 features the largest twin-kidney grille to ever adorn a BMW model. Its lines blend strength and elegance. Large windows and a long, flowing roofline are evident. Notably, the rear doors are longer than the front doors, for ease of entry and exit for second- and third-row passengers. The X7 has an 8.7-inch ground clearance. Two trims accompany the X7, which comes with standard all-wheel drive. The X7 xDrive40i features a twin-scroll turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder engine with 335 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque. This model has an estimated 0-60 mph time of 5.8 seconds. The X7 xDrive50i makes 479 horsepower and 456 pound-feet of torque and has a 0-60 mph time of 5.2 seconds. Both engines work with an 8-speed automatic transmission with manual shifting capabilities. Towing capacity measures 5,950 pounds with a third-party hitch, but 7,500 pounds with a factory-installed hitch. Inside, the cabin meets and even exceeds customer expectations with generous amounts of leather throughout. The focal points are both the 12.3-inch instrument cluster display behind the steering wheel and the 12.3-inch center display measured diagonally. The cabin has an open feeling with plush seats everywhere. Standard tech equipment includes a hard-drive-based media system with 20 GB of memory. This suite includes navigation, six USB ports, Bluetooth connectivity, and available connected vehicle applications. The standard 10-speaker audio system on the X7 xDrive40i gives way to a Harman Kardon system on the X7 xDrive50i. Optionally, a 20-speaker Bowers & Wilkens Diamond Surround System is available with both trims.
