Ave Maria Choir pays tribute to its founding member and long serving leader, Felix Tie.
Felix passed away on the 11th Jan 2017. Some of the fondest memories regarding Felix was his love for this hymn, " One Bread One Body" by John Talbot, which was sung on many occasions as communion hymn.
Appended to this video are some highlights of his earlier years in this choir. We hope to inspire members with its rich history and hope many will come forward to serve selflessly, with dedication and perseverance, as many of the founding members did throughout the decades.

History
In 1982, then parish priest Louis Loiseau MEP approached senior Tie to set up a Saturday evening choir for the 545 pm Holy Mass. In the same year, on 31st July, Ave Maria Choir was formed
The founding families of AMC were mostly living in Chai Chee neighbourhood. They were as follows -
Patrick Yeo and daughters Lily & Jenny
Deanna Thexeira and sons Raphael & Romuld (musicians)
Stephen & Nelly Neo with daughter Serene (organist)
Anthony & Maria Neo with their 4 children Adeline, Angie , Amy and Alex
Christopher & Katherine Tan with Randall and Bernadette
Stanley and Sylvia Somasundrams with daughter Karen
Freddie and Anne-Marie Ang
Doris with Lynda
Joseph Lim with Bernard and Angelina
and the Tie Family of course, Frederick & Teresa with Felix, Jeffery, Bernadette and Clementina, now Sr Emmanuela of the Poor Clares
Claudine Soosay and Sophie Lim joined at a very young age as organists
